A former rehabilitated station
The 18th arrondissement of Paris is one of my favorites for my Parisian strolls, I like to walk in the charming streets of Montmartre and the very avant-garde district of Lamarck where many good places to eat and drink are hidden, with their atypical, bobo and retro style. I wanted to talk to you today about a rather special address, with an innovative concept that you may already know. Located at the former Ornano station, on La Petite Ceinture, the REcyclerie is a perfect haven of peace to cut yourself off from the city, recharge your batteries and reconnect with the essential.
You enter an atypical place, with the appearance of a canteen with a vegetable decoration, an open space with columns and visible arcades and a large glass roof that brings a lot of light. Based on an original concept of respect for sustainable and ethical values, the decoration has been designed on the principle of recovery where you can find mismatched tables and chairs, street lamps from the city of Paris and a counter made with the old floor.
An eco-responsible address
This former abandoned station, transformed into a real living space, presents itself as an eco-responsible place to share. Reuse, recycle and reduce are the watchwords at the REcyclerie. Much more than a café-canteen, you will also discover a collaborative workshop to learn how to do crafts and an urban farm along the tracks. Indeed, events focused on responsible consumption are regularly organized there, you will be able to participate in collections, barter, craft or yoga workshops but also cooking classes and even film screenings on the rails.
I like to go there to taste a simple cuisine prepared with fresh, seasonal and local products from organic farming or simply to have a drink in this unique setting.
